In 2023, in addition to our National Lottery Heritage Fund projects, we devised and delivering a series of artist engagement sessions and low light walks in Penwith.
For the Penwith Landscape Partnership we ran two artist inspiration days in April, offering a chance to spend time with like-minded creatives engaging in the wonderful landscape of Penwith, considering local nature, and ancient sites with an exploration of local land and skyscapes through analogue film and pinhole photography. The first day took in St Just and introduced participants to working with moving image film and pinhole photography, with a chance to learn about alternative processing techniques with coffee and local plants. The second day focused on Penwith Holed Stones, starting with a visit to Tate St Ives to see Barbara Hepworth's take on holed stones and then on to Tregeseal to visit the Kenijack holed stones. Lots of fascinating chat along the way!
With thanks to the Penwith Landscape Partnership, The National Trust and National Lottery Heritage Fund and Feast Cornwall for support.
