DEEP SPACE – Call out for Dance Participants!
Join choreographer Lois Taylor and other dancers from the to create a unique performance piece, forming part of the exciting DEEP SPACE event from Mayes Creative at Sterts Theatre, Upton Cross, Liskeard, on April 21st 2018.
Your dance will be shown alongside work by the core professional Company of the DEEP SPACE project and Vital Spark's new combined arts project, all part of the Dark Skies Bright Stars programme.
Lois is a highly experienced choreographer who makes it easy for everyone to get involved and to find their dance. Men and women of all ages and abilities are welcome to join but you must be able to make all rehearsals. The rehearsal venue is yet to be confirmed but will be in the Upton Cross / Liskeard area.

Thursday 22nd March, 7pm - 9pm
Thursday 29th March, 7pm - 9pm
Sunday 8th April, 10.30am - 1pm
Saturday 14th April, 10.30am - 1pm
Saturday 21st April rehearsal time to be confirmed with group. Performance commitment: arrive by 6.30pm, finish by 9.30pm

Introduction
This exciting project combines improvised and set scores shared between musicians Michelson Morley, filmmaker Joanna Mayes, costume designer Andrea Carr and choreographer Lois Taylor to create a unique movement, sonic and visual experience for performance at Sterts Theatre on April 21st 2018.
The project from Mayes Creative, supported by Arts Council England, FEAST and Heritage Lottery Fund, is the next phase of the Dark Skies: Bright Stars programme, and uses data captured from cosmic rays to inspire creative responses exploring our connection to the universe. Dancer Requirements
Dancers applying for the DEEP SPACE opportunity should be confident in performance and improvisation, have a professional approach and be able to make all the dates and times.
We are seeking 5 experienced dance artists (fee: £575 plus support for travel) and 3 emerging or re-emerging dance artists (fee: £250 plus support for travel).
Working dates and times
Rehearsals: Sun 15th April, Tues 17th, Weds 18th & Thurs 19th April all from 9.30pm - 5.30pm, and Friday 20th April 11am - 9.30pm.
Performance Day: Saturday 21st April 11am - 9.30pm
Venues: Village Hall, Upton Cross and Sterts Theatre, Upton Cross, Liskeard
Please note dancers may be required to be flexible on start & finish times.

Lois Taylor is a dancer, artist and activist. She is a lead artist on Physical Postcards (ACE funded 2016), recently collaborating with rural venues in north and southeast Cornwall, Newlyn Gallery and the Hall For Cornwall.
Her 2017 activity includes: co creative researcher for Rosemary Lee site specific work and Cscape Dance early years project; creative producer, Midsummer Dance; teacher and performer, Home Service, bringing great art to older people in care homes funded by Arts Council England and The Baring Foundation.
Choreographer and dance performer, Bodmin Moor Poetry Festival; and lead dance artist on the Dark Skies Bight Stars project.
First and foremost a dancer, Lois sees the world as her studio and always puts the body and creativity at the heart of her approach. She has worked as a performer in many original works including Angela Praed’s all night performance duet The Bed and Saffy Setohy’s work Unexpected Animal and Kindling, a performance work made with her son. She embeds her work in a wide range of contexts and partnerships through performance and participatory activity.
