Dr Joanna Mayes, Creative Director of Mayes Creative, has a background in education (BEdHons) and Jazz improvisation; Jo Mayes then completed a PhD in participatory performance/art at Dartington College of Arts. Currently living in Cornwall, creative projects include both creative production and direction as well as the making of installation work and film. Jo's continued interest lies in the way in which we locate ourselves and how to extend this understanding through community and performance. Jo is currently working with Cornwall Libraries on the Loop the Loop project, prior to this with Shallal Dance Theatre Company on the Remapping St Ives project, alongside ongoing tutoring work with University students with specific learning disabilities. Jo also provides programming support for St Ives Jazz Club.
