As a part of our Destination Dartmoor ongoing project, you're invited to partake in Station to Station and Star Train. Both events are based around the Exeter to Okehampton trainline and invite participants to explore the heritage of both the trainlines and stations themselves as well as their environments.
STATION TO STATION
Artist Peter Beeson leads a tonal drawing workshop celebrating the amazing heritage of the Dartmoor Railway Line stations, all materials provided. We will catch the 11:22am train from Exeter St Davids and will be getting off the train at stations along the line, with hot chocolate provided at Crediton Station - lunch can be purchased from the tearooms or bring your own. All levels of experience welcomed - children need to be accompanied throughout. Book before 10th to secure your place and a discounted train ticket. TIMETABLE: 11:22 leave Exeter Central 11:25 arrive Exeter St Davids drawing 12:19 leave St Davids 12:31 arrive Crediton drawing, hot chocolate provided, lunch available to purchase at the Station Tea Rooms 13:51 leave Crediton 14:17 arrive Okehampton drawing, finish around 15:00 There is a return train back to Exeter at 15:25. The £5 charge is a deposit for materials. Refunded on attendance. |
STAR TRAIN
We will meet at Exeter Central station at 15:10 and get on the train for Okehampton at 15:31. Astronomer Carolyn Kennett will be available to talk about stars and our solar system on the train, with star gazing (weather permitting) around Okehampton Station from 16:45.
